I wrote this when I was 24 and I found it amusing that there were people in my social group at the time already complaining they were 'getting old'. I liked the idea of celebrating getting older while still being 'actually' young (of course, the irony lessens every day as I get older!). The recording was more anthemy and less rocking than our live version, which was a crowd favourite. Emily improvised the flute parts which we then cut up and reinserted as samples. Probably should have been a single.
